‘Guardians of the Pike’ is a dedication to a couple we met on our hike up Scafell Pike in the Lake District. They decided to summit the peak to remove a tent filled with rubbish that was left on top of Scafell Pike. The couple had heard about the ecological harm inflicted by others via social media and decided to rescue the mountain. I was so uplifted by their challenging gesture, the filled tent over his shoulder, tent poles in her hand and dog by their side - beautiful souls and true guardians of the pike!
