“Parrallllels” is a representation of the view from the coastal path on the way back from Capel Porth beach towards Wheal Coates mine. Vivid colours, such as purple and yellow burst with vibrancy, contrasting against the wild blue sea and ruins of a mine from another time. The mine forms part of the landscape with its tunnels, and copper and tin veins which weave through the earth and extend under the sea. So many feelings and questions brimmed in my mind in that moment standing there with my son - the history of the land, the joys, disasters, the elements living alongside and together, the changing landscape and its role, the vulnerability of life, land and connections to spirituality and unity. There is so much here, a place of so much beauty.
